Teacher’s Day
Teacher’s Day is celebrated every year on 5th September in India to honor and appreciate the invaluable role of teachers in shaping society. This day marks the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a great philosopher, scholar, teacher, and the second President of India. When his students once asked to celebrate his birthday, he suggested that the day be observed as Teacher’s Day instead, to pay tribute to all teachers.
Teachers are often called the backbone of society. They not only impart knowledge but also guide, inspire, and nurture students to become responsible citizens. They help in building character, shaping the future, and instilling moral values.
On this day, schools and colleges organize various activities such as speeches, cultural programs, skits, and games to express gratitude towards teachers. Students often prepare cards, flowers, or small tokens of appreciation to show their respect and love.
In short, Teacher’s Day is a celebration of the bond between teachers and students. It reminds us that teaching is not just a profession, but a noble service that shapes generations.
